The Sunday Times PriceWaterhouseCoopers Profit Track 100 Awards have named Virgin Active ‘best brand’ at their eighth annual awards ceremony, held on the 26th of June 2007.
The award, sponsored by The Sunday Times, was presented to Matt Merrick, Virgin Active UK Finance Director by The Sunday Times deputy business editor Dominic Merrick.
"It has been an incredible year for us, especially after recently being ranked 6th in this year’s Profit Track 100 list, " said Matt Merrick. "This latest award really is the cherry on the cake," he added. "None of it would be possible without the great team of people we have at Virgin Active and both myself and our UK Managing Director, Peter Brennan, want to thank everyone at Virgin Active for their hard work to see our excellent results rewarded with such an acknowledgment."

Virgin Active beat competition from Reiss and Jimmy Choo in the best brand category. This is the second year in a row that Virgin Active has placed on the Profit Track moving up from 15th position in 2006 to 6th in 2007. Virgin Active joined Virgin money in this year's top 10 on the Profit Track.
The awards dinner and presentation took place at the Renaissance Chancery Court Hotel.
