What is yoga ashtanga?
Ashtanga Yoga is a strong practice working through a series of set postures, beginning with sun salutations and synchronising breath to movement.
Continuous breathwork throughout the class calms the nervous system and steadies the mind.
Using a set sequence, you can learn the flow of postures and key points of alignment for your body.
Ashtanga Yoga was developed by Pattabhi Jois and originates from Mysore in India, translating to “Eight Limbs” and refers to the eight different aspects of a fully-rounded yoga practice, on and off the mat, from lifestyle to enlightenment.
